From a very early age, i have been involved in the building of properties.  My father began his working life as an apprentice to a local building firm, and i wasn`t very old when he started his own building company.  I remember occasionally travelling with him to projects that  he was in the process of completing and taking in the life of a builder and the accomplishment through completion.  As the years passed i would spend a lot of my school holiday time working at my fathers projects, just being a help at first and then gradually doing more little jobs. 

I had the building bug.  I carried on working in my fathers business, excited by the chance to work in such a varied and creative workspace.  To start work on a patch of ground, or a wreck of a building and then turn that into a place to live or work was inspiring.  

 

The beginning of the 1990`s was a terrible time for the British economy and the building industry suffered probably more than any.  My father`s health took a turn for the worse and I needed to find work, which i did by starting a landscaping business with a friend.  After a few years my friend decided to move into other employment, but i continued with constructive landscaping up until starting 6T Property Developments.  I had still kept my hand in with building work also, taking on many projects when asked, including a large extension to a nursing home, residential extensions and smaller works and my own home.

 

It was whilst watching a property developer talking about converting a commercial building, on the internet, that i began to realise that i should be involved fully in the re-invention of buildings again.  I was excited by the prospect, and so 6T Property Developments was born.
